This course explores the importance of embodiment on the path of practice and awakening.
We will go over practices that allow us to develop and deepen embodied presence. And we will examine how exactly embodiment supports our journey toward a life of freedom from suffering, wisdom, and compassion.
There seems to be a paradox in the Buddhist view of the body: Even though traditional Buddhism teaches us not to be identified with the body, it presents both breathing and body sensations as an essential part of its mindfulness instructions.
The paradox dissolves when we recognize that the body is a door to the present, and the present is a door to the timeless quality of awareness.
